Working Title — Name Coming Soon

A Gathering Place for the Next Generation

A faith-rooted sports and coaching formation center where young athletes are developed, coaches are equipped, and community is built on purpose.

Explore the Vision

"Where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." — Matthew 18:20

Youth need more than a gym.
They need a gathering place.

Communities are full of courts and fields. What's missing is a space built with intention, where athletic development and spiritual formation happen under the same roof.

🏀

Court shortage is real

Club teams, church leagues, and youth programs compete for the same limited gym space every season. Demand far outpaces supply in the NW Twin Cities metro.

🙏

Faith and sport are often separated

Churches run youth groups. Clubs run teams. Rarely does a space exist that integrates character formation, coaching development, and competitive athletics into one mission.

🎯

Coaches are under-resourced

Most youth coaches volunteer with passion but little training. There's no local center dedicated to equipping coaches with tools, curriculum, and a Kingdom-centered framework.

🤝

Community needs a front door

Churches need ways to invite families in. A facility like this becomes a natural bridge, where everyone is welcome and faith is visible, not forced.

Mount Pleasant Christian Church has run this exact model since 2008 — it works long-term

More than a fieldhouse.
A formation center.

Project Tabernacle is built on two co-equal pillars. Both are essential. Neither works as well alone.

🏟️

Youth Club Athletics

Basketball at launch. Volleyball when a Director of Volleyball is hired. Growth is director-led, intentional, never rushed. Every sport channel launches only when the right leader is in place. Courts are striped for basketball, volleyball, and pickleball from day one, ready for what's next.

Competition + Character
📖

Coach Equipping & Formation

Whole coaching staffs come for season planning and retreats. Professional development rooted in Three-Dimensional Coaching, adapted into a Kingdom Service curriculum. A teaching theater, classrooms, and spaces built specifically for coach formation, not borrowed church basements.

Community Amenities

Pickleball isn't a club sport here. It's a community builder. Faith-based leagues, church leagues, senior programs, intergenerational play. The NW Twin Cities metro is hungry for this. Golf simulators, fitness center, and walking track serve the whole neighborhood.

All Ages, All Welcome
🕊️

Faith Integration

A chapel for pre-game prayer and post-game reflection. Youth devotionals woven into the rhythm of leagues. Scripture on the walls, not as decoration, but as identity. This isn't a gym with a Bible verse. It's a gathering place where faith is the foundation, not the footnote.

Visible, Natural, Inviting

Built for purpose. Designed for people.

A 50,000-65,000 sq ft facility, potentially retrofitted from an existing commercial building, designed around community, not just competition.

🏓

🎓

Teaching Theater

✝️

Chapel

100-150 person capacity for prayer, devotionals, small groups, and FCA meetings. The spiritual heartbeat of the facility.

A model that funds the mission.

Structured as an independent 501(c)(3) in partnership with a local church. Self-sustaining through diversified revenue. Mission-funding by Year 5.

501(c)(3)
Independent nonprofit with church partnership. Broadest fundraising reach + donor tax deductions.
~$960K
Projected annual revenue by Year 3 from memberships, leagues, simulators, and programs.
Phased
Start with 2 courts + 2 golf sims for $2-4M. Expand as the community grows. De-risk the capital.
Retrofit
Converting an existing warehouse or commercial building can cut costs by 50-70% vs. new construction.

The church provides the land. The facility operates independently. A board of church leaders, business professionals, and community members governs the mission. Revenue comes from memberships, youth leagues, golf simulators, fitness programming, court rentals, and community events. Excess goes back into the mission: adaptive sports, scholarships, coaching development, and community outreach.

Every church that sends youth to a league becomes part of the network. Coaches communicate through transparent, parent-visible channels. The facility becomes a living bridge between churches and families, built on trust, safety, and purpose.

This model already works.

Project Tabernacle is a working codename. The permanent name will reflect the community and church partnership that brings this vision to life. The mission is set. The name will follow.
